Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Beat the butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mix to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in the rolled oats and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are set but centers look soft.
  9. Cool briefly on sheets, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
